Question: What is the meaning of FAQ?
Answer:

FAQ is the abbreviation for "frequently asked questions".

Question:

Sometimes on the sheet-music the copyright remark or the composer's name is Thomas Helmut Voigt instead of Thomas Voigt. Is Helmut identical with the operator of this homepage, or have I by chance discovered a cleverly camouflaged illegal music site of the music mafia?

Answer:

Yes and no!
Mafia, no - identical, yes!
Due to my GEMA membership since the middle of 1999, compositions by me are still published under the name of Thomas Helmut Voigt, in order to avoid being mixed up with another composer with the same name.

Question:

Has the song "Eine kleine Selbstgedrehte und ein Kännchen Tee" (A small roll-up and a pot of tea) been composed by you?

Answer:

No!
As far as I know the song was made by a Thomas Voigt, who lived in Hannover till 2006, and who died in Teneriffa at the age of 50. The victim's son is supposed to plan the publication of his father's music on the internet.
Unfortunately I could neither find the son's name nor his telephone number nor his place of residence. Neither have I found the music page.
If I find it I'll include it in my links.

Question: What is the exact pronunciation of Voigt?
Answer:

Many people in Germany, particularly if they live in Northern Germany, would like to omit the i in their pronunciation. However, my name is pronounced with a clearly audible i. Believe me, it's my family's tradition!
Some stubborn people, however, always want to explain to me, how my own name should be pronounced. The advocates of a lengthened i can take much fun in words like:
oil - boil - broil - coin - noise - poison - voice - void etc.
So what, tongue-warriors?
